Springsteen in IrelandHe is famous for being “Born In The USA” but Bruce Springsteen’s roots are in County Westmeath, it has been revealed in a new book. The new book features more than 150 photographs from the ten Irish tours and fans’ stories about meeting the man they call The Boss.

Tom Sharkey THE colourful life of one of Ireland’s forgotten sporting heroes is revealed in a new biography. “Sailor” Tom Sharkey fought the first four heavyweight champions under the Marquis of Queensberry rules – to become a boxing legend. At its heart is the astonishing 50-year rivalry and friendship Sharkey enjoyed with Jim Jeffries. His 1899 encounter with Jeffries is consistently listed as one of the greatest nights of boxing of all time.
